It is considered one of the greatest works of zarzuela, setting a model within the great genre. The libretto, freely based on Lope de Vega&#8217;s comedy, portrays romantic Madrid in a poetic and faithful way, creating pictures of great color and liveliness. Due to its characteristics, it can also be defined as a high quality comic opera.<\/span><br \/>\n<br \/><\/br><br \/>\n<iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WVBEArnMmyc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2352\" aria-expanded=\"false\">II Maestro Chap\u00ed Lyric Residence<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2352\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2352\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2019, the Compa\u00f1\u00eda L\u00edrica Alicantina won the II Residencia L\u00edrica Maestro Chap\u00ed, with &#8220;<\/span><b>Pharaoh&#8217;s Court&#8221;.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  with the special collaboration of the Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica del Vinalop\u00f3 and the Coro del Teatro Principal de Alicante, with an extensive cast led by Mari Carmen Yelo, Juana Mar\u00eda del Toro, Javier Rubio, Adri\u00e1n Qui\u00f1ones and Nacho Hern\u00e1ndez.  <\/span><br \/>\n<br \/><\/br><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This biblical operetta in one act and five scenes is a zarzuela that mixes elements of operetta, zarzuela, revista, and even cupl\u00e9. It is famous for its dialogues full of sexual innuendo and connotations, songs with a spicy aroma and vaudeville-like entanglements, which was fashionable during the first third of the twentieth century.  <\/span><br \/>\n<br \/><\/br><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eqKqVmxm8f0\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2353\" aria-expanded=\"false\">III Maestro Chap\u00ed Lyric Residence<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2353\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2353\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>In 2020 he won the III Residency &#8220;<strong>El hu\u00e9sped sevillano&#8221;,<\/strong> of the Compa\u00f1\u00eda L\u00edrica together with the Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica del Vinalop\u00f3 and the Coro del Teatro Principal de Alicante.<\/p>\n<p>In the imperial city of Toledo, at the beginning of the 17th century, Juan Luis, a court painter, was commissioned by the king to paint an Immaculate Virgin for the Royal Oratory. The artist hopes to find in Toledo the model that will serve him to realize his work. He meets Raqu\u00e9l, a woman of extraordinary beauty and daughter of Master Andr\u00e9s Munestein, and is immediately captivated by her beauty: she is the woman he is looking for in his painting. Count Don Diego, taking advantage of the young Raquel&#8217;s departure from his house, on his way to the church, makes her his prisoner, taking her to the Mes\u00f3n del Sevillano, waiting for the opportunity to take her out of the city.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2354\" aria-expanded=\"false\">IV Maestro Chap\u00ed Lyric Residence<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2354\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2354\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2021 he won the IV Residence the Compa\u00f1\u00eda L\u00edrica Alicantina with the Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica del Vinalop\u00f3 with<\/span><b> &#8220;La rosa del azafr\u00e1n&#8221;. <\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This free adaptation of the novel El Perro del Hortelano, by Lope de Vega. Nearly forty artists perform in this zarzuela in two acts, with libretto by Federico Romero and Guillermo Fern\u00e1ndez-Shaw, and music by Jacinto Guerrero, directed by Juanma Cifuentes and illuminated by Juanjo Llorens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In post-war Spain, a woman, Sagrario, decides to take over the farm where she grew up. Families, like hers, dismembered by the war, and a landowner, Don Generoso, who has lost his mind due to economic ruin and the death of his son in the war, get by in very difficult times thanks to the efforts of a self-made woman. Juan Pedro&#8217;s arrival at the farm is not a major inconvenience until he sets his eyes on Catalina, one of the workers. &#8220;Suddenly, I saw him in love with someone else&#8230;and I was angry that he hadn&#8217;t noticed me.&#8221; The customs and social conveniences of the time make this love impossible.
