Ballet of the Kyrgyz National Opera

Ballet in two acts, based on chapter 19 of the second book of “The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha” by Miguel de Cervantes. The ballet’s world premiere took place on December 26, 1869, at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. The plot, taken from the second volume of Cervantes’ novel, focuses primarily on the love between Kitri and the barber Basilio, and Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, whose mythical characters experience a series of adventures involving the young couple.
