L’elisir d’amore
El elixir de amor tells the story of Nemorino, a peasant in love with the indifferent Adina, who enlists in the army to buy a love “elixir” from a charlatan named Dulcamara. The elixir is actually Bordeaux wine, but Nemorino benefits from his courage to act more cautiously. This, combined with an unexpected inheritance, attracts women and awakens Adina’s jealousy, who eventually realizes she is in love with him.
