El proceso
One morning two civil servants turn up at the pension where bank manager Josef K. lives to inform him that he has just been the subject of legal proceedings for which they do not know the cause. They tell him that he must go to court immediately to clarify his situation. From that moment on, K’s life is caught up in an absurd and interminable process which, as one of the members of the court points out, includes the defendant’s own conviction.
