Un cabaré anarkosicalíptico

Studying the history of anarchism in Spain is a revolutionary pleasure. Discovering that the Social Revolution of 1936 is the most progressive project of proletarian power that has ever existed—at least in what we call the West—is a breath of historical hope. In the first third of the 20th century, libertarian women fought for women’s autonomy and freedom as a condition for making a desirable and livable world possible, while others, more inclined towards the night and the theater, the risqué ones, put a free life into practice and onto the stage, both in their actions and in their intermissions. Inspired by both, and in the search for role models of freedom and vitalistic audacity for the present, LIBRES!!! was born. With the rhythm and rhyme of a seedy cabaret and a mass appeal, it reviews the history of our anarchist women with the aim of opening cracks—if not overthrowing—the current system.
